Requirements

  • An iPhone with iOS 27 or later.
  • Free to download. Setbreak Pro is an optional in-app purchase.
  • No account needed. Sign in with Apple and Apple Health are optional.

Getting started

  1. Install Setbreak from the App Store and open it.
  2. Answer a few questions about your schedule, training days and equipment. Setbreak picks a strength plan from its templates.
  3. On Today, log each set in two taps as your day goes. Gentle reminders are spread across your work hours.

Setbreak isn't medical advice. Check with a professional before starting a new training plan.

Quick fixes

Reminders don't arrive

Check that notifications are allowed for Setbreak in the iPhone’s Settings › Notifications. Then, in Setbreak, open Settings from Today and check Reminders and your Work hours: reminders are spread across those hours, including night shifts that run past midnight.

Moving to a new iPhone

Your data lives on your iPhone, so bring it with you. In Setbreak, open Settings › Data › Export backup on the old iPhone, then Import backup on the new one. Importing replaces everything in Setbreak on that iPhone, and saves the current data as a safety backup first.

With Setbreak Pro and Sign in with Apple, iCloud backup (in the same Data section) keeps a copy in your own iCloud, and Restore from iCloud brings it back.

Setbreak Pro doesn't show as active

Open Settings › Setbreak Pro and tap Restore purchases, signed in with the Apple Account you bought it with. To change or cancel a subscription, use Manage subscription there, or the Subscriptions page of your Apple Account.

A barcode isn't found

Barcode lookups use Open Food Facts, a shared database that doesn’t know every product. Check that you’re online, or add the food yourself with Enter in Add food.

Seeing the tips again

Open Settings › Help and tutorials for the how-tos, and reset the tips there. They show again from the next launch.

Deleting your account and data

Settings › Account › Delete account and data deletes your iCloud backups, your account and all of your Setbreak data after two confirmations. What Setbreak wrote to Apple Health stays there, for you to manage in the Health app.

Uninstall

Touch and hold the Setbreak icon, tap Remove App, then Delete App. That removes the data Setbreak keeps on your iPhone. To remove your iCloud backups as well, use Delete account and data first (see above).

Privacy

Setbreak collects no data, and there is no Setbreak server. The details are in the privacy policy. Curious what’s next? See Coming soon.

FAQ

How much does Setbreak cost?

Setbreak is free to download. Setbreak Pro is an in-app purchase: Monthly US$4.99 or Yearly US$29.99, each with a 1-week free trial, or Lifetime US$59.99, paid once.

Pro adds meal estimates from a description or a photo, exercise charts, a weekly muscle map, form-check video, editing your plan with your own exercises and days, iCloud backup to your own iCloud, and writing your food and workouts to Apple Health.

Does my data stay on my iPhone?

Yes. There is no Setbreak server. Your training, food, body, journal and settings stay on your iPhone, in the app's own storage. You can export or import them at any time.

The network is used only for barcode lookups (a barcode is sent to Open Food Facts to find the product), for iCloud backup to your own private iCloud (Pro), and for the App Store. Meal estimates are made on your iPhone.

Do I need an account?

No. Sign in with Apple is optional. If you use it, the name and email it shares are kept on your iPhone.

Is Setbreak medical advice?

No. Setbreak isn't medical advice. Check with a professional before starting a new training plan. If something hurts, you can flag pain in the journal, and review your week before changing the plan.

How does the plan work?

Answer a few questions about your schedule, training days and equipment, and Setbreak picks a strength plan from its templates, with each exercise's sets, reps and weights. It moves you up when you've earned it.

Gentle reminders are spread across your work hours, and night shifts that run past midnight work too. With Pro you can edit the plan, add your own exercises and days, and set the weights you use.

Does it work with Apple Health?

Yes, if you turn it on. Setbreak reads body weight, steps and sleep; with Pro it writes your food and workouts.

Health data is never used for advertising and never leaves your iPhone except through Apple Health itself.

Which iPhones does it run on?

Any iPhone with iOS 27 or later.

Is Setbreak made by Apple?

No. Setbreak is an independent app made by Nio Martinez. Setbreak isn't made by or affiliated with Apple or Open Food Facts.
