The short version
- Setbreak collects no data. Its App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected”. The developer never receives your training, food, body, journal or health data.
- There is no Setbreak server. Your data stays on your iPhone, in the app’s own storage.
- Only three things use the network: barcode lookups (Open Food Facts), iCloud backup to your own iCloud (Setbreak Pro, optional), and the App Store for purchases.
- Health data is never used for advertising and never leaves your iPhone except through Apple Health itself.
What stays on your iPhone
Your training (plan, sets and sessions), food, body (weigh-ins, measurements, progress photos and form-check video), journal and settings are kept in Setbreak’s own storage on your iPhone. You can export them as a backup file, or import one, at any time from Settings.
Meal estimates (Setbreak Pro) from a description or a photo are made on your iPhone, with Apple’s on-device model. The description and the photo are not sent anywhere.
Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone. Widgets, the Live Activity and Siri and Shortcuts read the same data on your iPhone.
What leaves your iPhone
Barcode lookups
When you scan a food barcode, the barcode number is sent to Open Food Facts to look up the product. The request names the app, its version and your iOS version, as Open Food Facts asks, and carries none of your Setbreak data. Open Food Facts product data is available under the Open Database License (ODbL).
iCloud backup (optional, Setbreak Pro)
If you turn on iCloud backup, your Setbreak data is backed up to your own private iCloud database, under your Apple Account. The developer can’t read it. Apple’s privacy policy covers iCloud.
The App Store
Setbreak Pro is bought through the App Store. Apple handles the payment; Setbreak only learns whether Pro is active on your Apple Account, and never sees your payment details.
Sign in with Apple (optional)
You don’t need an account. If you choose Sign in with Apple, the name and email it shares (a private relay address, if you pick one) are kept on your iPhone. There is no Setbreak server to send them to.
Apple Health
Apple Health is optional and only asked for when you turn it on. Setbreak reads body weight, steps and sleep, to show your own numbers next to your training. With Setbreak Pro it can write your food and workouts to Apple Health.
Health data is used only for the features you see. It is never used for advertising, never shared with anyone, and never leaves your iPhone except through Apple Health itself.
Analytics, ads and tracking
The app has no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no crash-reporting service. If you opt in to sharing analytics with app developers in your iPhone’s settings, Apple may share crash reports with the developer; Apple’s settings control that.
Deleting your data
Settings › Account › Delete account and data deletes your iCloud backups, your Sign in with Apple account on the iPhone, and all of your Setbreak data, photos and clips. What Setbreak wrote to Apple Health stays there, for you to manage in the Health app. Deleting the app also removes the data it keeps on your iPhone.
